Howdy!
Thanks for stopping by! This website is our attempt to create a virtual gathering place much like our yard has become in the past 3 years. We will use this site to distribute information to our wonderful neighbors here in the lower Summit area. Things like the date, time and menu requests of our next neighborhood gathering. Or info about our computerized Christmas display (and others close by). Or whatever else Paul decides he wants to foist on you dear readers!
Comments are open to everyone and encouraged, but do consider that this page is publicly available worldwide… You can email Paul directly at Paul@KeyesComputer.com if you prefer.
Pull up a chair and shoot the breeze with us!
(Please understand that this type of website is a new thing to Paul. There will probably be some weird things happen as he learns to get his blog on…)

Thanks for all your hard work over the last few weeks. What great neighbors you are! We have really enjoyed our backyard discussions and look forward to more.
I do not live in this area but live in North Canton and have a friend who lives very close. I drive through this area frequently and was stunned by the devastation and watched for many nights as people gatherhed in their driveways and around their homes amidst piles of ruined things and yet never lost hope. I was encouraged by how the neighbors pulled together with each other. I believe tha is what has made the survival of this possible and I am encouraged. I also think this page is a wonderful idea and all part of the healing.
DAVID, YOUR COMMENTS WERE VERY KIND AND SO TRUE ABOUT HE PEOPLE IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD(ON LINWOOD , ALONG THE CREEK-AKA “THE RAGING RIVER”). THEY WERE/ ARE SUPPORTIVE OF EACH OTHER, HELPED EACH OTHER AND THAT HAS HELPED ALOT. HOWEVER, THERE WILL BE NO TRUE “HEALING” UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT THE CREEK. IT WAS DREDGED IN APPROXIMATELY 1976 OR SO, AND WE WERE TOLD THAT WOULD BE DONE EVERY 20 YEARS.. WELL, IT’S BEEN – 35 – YEARS, AND NOT A SHOVELFUL OF DIRT, STONES, SILT , HAS BEEN REMOVED FROM THAT CREEK SINCE. KIDS – WALK- THROUGH THAT CREEK ALL THE TIME. THAT JUST SHOWS HOW SHALLOW IT ACTUALLY IS. EVEN SMALL CHILDREN CAN WALK DOWN INTO IT, AND CLIMB THE SMALL BANK BACK UP. I KNOW- WE LIVE ON THE CREEK, AND HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 41 YEARS. SINCE 1970. NOT HARDLY ADEQUATE TO HANDLE HEAVY RAINS , EVEN FOR A SHORT TIME, ANYMORE. EVERYTIME IT RAINS , PEOPLE GET VERY NERVOUS WATCHING THE CREEK RISE, OVERFLOW THE BANKS, AND UP INTO THEIR YARDS, PRAYING THE RAIN WILL JUST STOP BEFORE WE FLOOD AGAIN. OR A NEIGHBOR WILL FLOOD AGAIN. IT CAUSES MORE ANXIETY THAN YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE. YOU HAVE TO LIVE IT TO FEEL IT. I KNOW THAT YOU ARE A REALTOR, BUT WE ALL KNOW THAT IT WOULD BE A VERY DIFFICULT TASK MARKETING AND SELLING ANY HOUSE THAT HAS FLOODED EVEN ONCE, LET ALONE SEVERAL TIMES, AND SO RECENTLY. WE ALL KNOW THIS. PLUS, WITH NO HELP FROM THE CITY OR COUNTY,WE ARE PRETTY MUCH ON OUR OWN. I THINK MANY WOULD AGREE, IT IS HARD TO BE OPTIMISTIC. THE CITY AND COUNTY JUST ASSUMES ” IT WILL PASS”. LIKE THE MANY YEARS BEFORE..BEEN THERE, DONE THAT.BUT, IN THE MEANTIME, WE PAY OUR PROPERTY TAXES !!
