Featuring Pulled Pork, Burgers and Hot Dogs. Probably some beans and potato salad. Maybe some kind of roadkill, who knows? Bringing something to share is not required but it sure is appreciated. Kid friendly with adult beverages and conversations very welcome.

Come enjoy an evening with your neighbors, bring the kids – leave the dogs at home, we have our own who will be wandering throughout the evening. Meet some new people – bring some new people. If you have seen the sign in person leading to this site – YOU and Yours are invited. Questions? Ask.

It’s gonna happen…

Saturday the 23rd of July, 2022. Officially kicking off at 5:00pm

Here are the basics – If you’ve seen the sign in the yard – you and yours are invited. If we’ve reached out to you directly, you and yours are invited. However you know about this, you and yours are invited. All ages are welcome. Fun, Food, Family and Friends… that’s what this is all about. Bringing a dish to share is encouraged and appreciated – and maybe a bit of adult beverage too!

We will be providing pulled pork, Texas style beef brisket, beef hot dogs, and some kind of beans. We’ll have water, soda, and maybe some beer to help wash it down.

We’ll have cornhole, washers, and a bouncer available (weather permitting).

We’d like to have an idea of how many to expect, so please shoot us an email to picnic@keyescomputer.com, or call or text Cindy or Paul to let us know you’re coming. RSVP is not required, but appreciated.

We will not be observing or enforcing any COVID protocols, but if you want to join us and observe your own precautions, we’ll still be glad to see you.

What – The 12th Annual LinwoodSummit Gathering.
When – Saturday, 26 September 2020. Let’s say 5pm until ?
Where – Y’all know where – at LinwoodSummit of course!
Why – It gives us joy and an excuse to enjoy your company for a little while.
How – We cook up some sort of roadkill, y’all optionally bring something you’d like to share. We all sit around, eat, drink, tell stories and generally have a pretty good time.

For 11 years now we have had the privilege of hosting a little annual get-together here at LinwoodSummit. We get to see old friends, make new friends, eat and imbibe. We’re proud to say that we get asked every year by someone “When’s this years gathering?”

After much soul searching and talking with neighbors, family, friends, Romans and countrymen we have decided that we do not want to break our tradition of the LinwoodSummit Gathering.

This has been a crazy year in so many ways, and frankly it seems that it’s not going to really let up any time soon. No matter where you stand on current issues, I think you’ll agree that this November will be one to remember. And (channeling Forrest Gump) “that’s all I got to say ’bout that.”

…Along those lines… PLEASE RSVP by text/phone/email/FB message/carrier pigeon or something so we know that we will have space available for any current ‘distancing’ requirements or desires. It would also be helpful for you to bring a chair or something to sit on.

Howdy Folks!

The sun has come out for more than 2 days in a row, the cicadas are buzzing in the trees and it’s getting close to HOF Week.  Any of these sounds like a good reason to have a neighborhood get-together… so let’s do it.

This year we’re going to have the party a bit earlier than we have in the past.  This year’s gather is scheduled for

Saturday, 27 July 2019.  Official kickoff at 5pm.

Most of y’all know how this works – if you see the sign out in the yard, YOU AND YOURS ARE INVITED.  Some of our neighbors don’t pay attention to the sign or check this site – please let them in on our ‘secret’.  Cindy will post on FB as well.  If you know of someone who may not have seen the web or FB post, please let them know as well.

OK… so it’s raining and it looks like it’s going to rain all day and night.

We still have food… we have EZup type shelters and a garage… and we have friends and neighbors…   Bring it on.

The bouncer is a no go (sorry)

We’re OK to go as long as the rain stays light / drizzly (which is most likely) – real rain will be a little tougher, but if you show up, we’ll pass you a plate and tell you some stories!

We’re gonna do it again.  We’ve set the date for this year’s Neighborhood Picnic for Saturday, 29 July 2017.  We’ll start grubbing around 5ish.  We’ll provide some smoked pulled pork, some hot dogs, and not exactly sure what else.  For drinking we’ll have water, a little beer, a bit of soda.  We very much appreciate covered dishes that you bring to share!

There have been quite a few newcomers to the neighborhood and this is a great way meet your neighbors.  All are welcome.  This is a family affair, but we do enjoy adult beverages!

If you have seen the yard sign bringing you to this website, YOU are invited – the sign in the yard is your invitation.  Some of our neighbors don’t notice the sign – please help us get the word out.

You might bring a chair if you can.

The good news is that is almost 60 degrees outside.  The bad news is that the creek has hopped over its banks a bit and will probably get a little higher before it subsides.

Hi All,
I don’t generally believe the weather forecast any farther out than 12 hours. That said, for the past week the forecast for Saturday has bounced between 50% and 100% chance of rain and storms in the afternoon and evening. We’re really not equipped to deal with rainy weather party and even if it’s not directly raining on us, it’s most likely going to be particularly steamy and nasty. There’s now way to win this so we’ve decided to err on the side of ‘not almost certainly getting wet’ this time.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Our new Linwood Summit Gathering Picnic will be Saturday 27 August…. By Golly!
